A High Dependency Unit (HDU) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology is a specialized medical facility that provides a higher level of care than a standard ward but is less intensive than an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). HDUs are designed to manage patients with complex medical conditions who require more frequent monitoring, intervention, and support.
X-rays and other imaging tests, like ultrasound, can help doctors see inside the body. When small tools, such as tubes and wires, are used with imaging exams, some conditions can be treated with minimally invasive surgery. It may take only a few small cuts to reach areas inside the body that need treatment or repair.
